The building, located in the center of Jászberény, is situated in the courtyard of the old prison. The cells have been replaced by well-appointed rooms and a well-maintained environment, and there are plenty of parking spaces in the courtyard.
The second-most populous city in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County and the capital of the Jászság region is located in the Northern Great Plain region.
Jászberény is located 79 kilometers northeast of the capital. The Mátra, the country’s highest mountain range, is only 36 kilometers away.
Jászberény is the town with the richest collection of historic monuments in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County. Numerous religious and secular buildings, monuments, and statues can be found throughout the town.
The internationally renowned Jászság Folk Ensemble is based in the town. Every year, the town hosts the International Dance House and Music Camp, the Csángó Festival, and the National Honey Fair; and starting in 2019, the town added a new event to its calendar: the Jász Sausage-Making Festival.
